The Mousetrap was first performed in October 1952. Although it is one of several theatre productions penned by Agatha Christie, the play has continued to be immensely popular for decades and draws huge crowds with sell-out performances to this day. At the end of each show, the audience are sworn to secrecy and asked not to reveal the identity of the murderer. This tradition has lasted over the years, meaning the mysterious plot and shocking twists are just as exciting to audiences today as they were 70 years ago.
