The Hacienda: Threads Prize Draw

We're offering readers the chance to win a free copy of The Hacienda: Threads featuring a signed bookplate from Peter Hook, legendary bassist and co-founder of Joy Division and New Order. 

Celebrate the magic of the iconic Manchester club that changed everything in this official book, told through evocative photographs and eye-witness accounts of the people who were there, from musicians, DJs and fashion designers to performers, clubbers and staff.

How to enter

To enter, all you need to do is follow us on Instagram, and like and comment on the prize post, before 11.59pm on the 30th June. You can find the post here.

How we'll select the winner

We'll randomly draw from all eligible entrants after the 30th June 2026, and contact the winner via Instagram messaging thereafter. If we don't hear back from them in 7 days, or they're not eligible for the prize, we'll re-draw the winner.

Terms and conditions

1. This Prize Draw is being organised by HUK, Carmelite House, 50 Victoria Embankment, London EC4Y 0DZ.

2. This Prize Draw is for the chance to win a free copy of The Hacienda: Threads including signed bookplate. (the ‘Prize’).

3. To enter the Prize Draw, please like and comment on the prize post from Special Edition Books, and follow Special Edition Books on Instagram. Please do not include any sensitive personal data with your entry. No purchase is necessary to enter.

4. The winner of the Prize Draw (the ‘Winner’) will be selected at random from the entries received in accordance with these Terms and Conditions by HUK, whose decision will be final. No correspondence will be entered into.

5. Entrants must be aged 18 or over and resident in the United Kingdom. The Prize Draw is not open to employees of the Publisher, their families, or to anyone professionally connected to the Prize Draw either themselves or through their families.

6. Entries may only be submitted between 11:00am BST on 11th June 2026 and 11.59pm BST on 30th June 2026. Any entries received outside these specified times and dates and any entries that do not meet the requirements of these Terms and Conditions will not be eligible for entry to the Prize Draw.

7. An entrant may only submit one entry. Further entries will be disqualified. Entries will not be accepted via agents, third parties or in bulk.

8. The Publisher is not responsible for contacting or responding to entrants who provide unclear or incomplete information or for entries that are lost, misdirected, delayed or destroyed.

9. The Publisher reserves the right to (i) cancel the Prize Draw; (ii) alter the details of the Prize and/or (iii) alter any other details of the Prize Draw without notice but the Publisher will try to avoid creating any undue disappointment. No cash alternative or other alternatives to the Prize will be provided.

10. If a Winner is unable to accept their Prize or cannot be contacted, the Publisher reserves the right to select another entrant to receive the Prize.

11. Each Winner’s name may be published on the Publisher’s website and social media accounts. Unless a Winner objects, the Publisher will make available the name of each Winner to anyone who requests this information by writing to the Publisher at the address shown above.

12. Any personal data submitted by entrants, including their names and email addresses (the ‘Information’), will be used by the Publisher (who is the Data Controller) for the purposes of this Prize Draw, including without limitation for the purpose of running the Prize Draw and arranging and/or delivering the Prize, in accordance with these Terms and Conditions and in accordance with Publisher’s Privacy Notice which can be found here. Subject to clause 13 below, the Information will be deleted within six months of the arrangement or delivery of the Prize.

13. Where an entrant has opted-in to receive marketing communications from the Publisher, the email address of the entrant will be used by the Publisher in accordance with the Publisher’s Privacy Notice to send the entrant the information they agreed to receive at the time of opting in. Entrants will be given the option of opting out in those emails if they don’t want to continue receiving them.

14. Entrants acknowledge that the Publisher may need to share the Information with third parties for the purpose of arranging and/or delivering the Prize.

15. Neither the Publisher nor any other member of the Hachette group of companies makes any warranty or claim in respect of the Prize or accepts any liability whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise in respect of the Prize itself. If an entrant or the Winner has any questions about the Prize or its suitability for them, they should contact Special Edition Books at support@specialeditionbooks.co.uk.

16. By entering the Prize Draw, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

17. These Terms and Conditions and any disputes or claims (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of these Terms and Conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England, whose courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
