Exclusive Audio Content

A short chapter originally written by Bernie Taupin for the book but not included in the main edition, ‘Rufas T. Firefly and the Brown Dirt Cowboy’ recounts the story of when Taupin met Groucho Marx in 1972. It is read by Bernie Taupin and supplied on an etched USB stick.

Limited Edition Prints

This deluxe edition includes a limited-edition and signed large print of Bernie Taupin’s ‘Love Me Again’ artwork, created in 2019 in honour of the song “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again” for the Rocketman soundtrack. Plus, a bespoke print of the book’s epilogue at US letter size, hand-written by Bernie and exclusive to this deluxe edition.

Tell me more about the souvenir concert ticket and VIP pass

The souvenir VIP pass in this deluxe edition pays homage to Bernie’s own collection of VIP passes. Our vintage-style souvenir concert ticket contains a number of easter egg references for eagle-eyed fans: the day of the week (a pretty good night for combat); the date (the release date of which wildly successful Elton and Bernie song?); the timings (the opening lyrics of another top 10 hit on both sides of the Atlantic); the cost (an important year as described by Bernie in the book); the venue (a place close to Bernie and Elton’s hearts); and the seat location (the same is occupied by a young man in a song written in 1973). Can you work them out?

What is the format of the recorded extra chapter?

Loaded onto a USB in MP3 format, the chapter was recorded at a studio in LA selected by Bernie and can be accessed on most platforms.

When can I expect my copy?

We anticipate dispatching all pre-orders of this edition on its publication date, 11^th November, however this is an estimate and the final date may change.
